December was busy, as always, filled with lots of company and the wonderful addition of Jasmin to Pablo’s family! On December 13th, Jasmin was born, and Pablo and Melani are excited to have their first child. In mid-December, Pablo and Melani’s family came and stayed for a few weeks. Marcos Zapata (Pablo’s father-in-law) helped me put carpet on the platform—it looks so much better now! We also installed the church sign on the glass facing the street. It looks great and really grabs attention. Lights were also installed to illuminate it at night.
At the beginning of December, seven church men and I attended a “Fires of Evangelism” conference in Jujuy! It was exciting and served as an introduction to Baptist beliefs for most of the men. We were challenged to walk with God, pray, and spread the Gospel. When we returned, we began praying more fervently for land. We are trusting that God will allow us to use a piece of land for His church here in Posadas, and we are praying it will be soon. We looked at 32 acres in a great location and are praying for God’s provision and guidance. Although it is not my first choice, it would be a fantastic church location. I have no doubt that God will provide in His time, but in the meantime, we will continue to work hard and do our part as a church.
On December 20th, I went to preach at a missions conference for another missionary a few hours north of here. It was a blessing to spend some time with him that evening. Then, on Saturday the 21st, we had our first church-wide outreach! We went out to pass out tracts, and two people made professions of faith! The congregation really enjoyed this, and we plan to do this once a month as a church for now.
The last week of December, we painted the church facility and started building some acoustic paneling. On the 25th, the church men and I went fishing! It was a lot of fun, and now they want to go back! Hopefully, we can plan an outing like this with the church men every two months. I am working hard to invest in them, grow closer to them, and help them grow closer to each other—they are the backbone and the future of the church.
Finally, on the last Saturday of the month, we held a garage sale. It was a fun event! The church members brought their used items to sell, and they bought each other’s things, along with some outsiders who came. We used this to raise funds for a pastor in Argentina who is building his house and needs some help. The church was able to raise $1,750 to send to this pastor! In the coming months, I will introduce faith promise giving to the church, and we will partner with a local pastor here in Argentina. I am praying for guidance as to who God would have us invest in.
There is so much happening—it’s a little hard to keep up! We have huge goals for 2025 and are looking forward to what God will do. Thank you for praying and giving! Your investment here will go further than you can imagine, and it is an honor to serve God. If you would like to visit us during 2025, please reach out. I would love for every pastor of every church we visited during deputation to visit us here in Argentina at some point—your pastor could be the next one!
For His Service,
Benjamin and Bernice George
