October Update

ree

October was busy as usual. God was so good to allow us to have a productive month, celebrate our wedding anniversary, purchase a motorcycle, and enjoy a few days off with family for our anniversary trip.

Church attendance has been steadily growing, though the number of faithful families who are always present hasn’t changed much. We restarted biweekly discipleship in the homes of our church members to help them grow spiritually at a faster pace. This method produced great results the last time we implemented it, and already we are seeing good signs again. Overall, it has been encouraging to see more people beginning to attend and some becoming more faithful.

This month we were finally able to get the first loads of dirt placed on our personal property to begin leveling it. The first step is underway. About six months ago we requested this work, but heavy rain delayed everything until now. We have also been working with the architect and building company to prepare for construction. The next two phases will be fencing the property with a security fence that is somewhat snake-proof, and getting the water connected. At the moment we cannot afford to build much, but by faith, as soon as possible I will likely build a small wood-frame home of about 350 sq. ft. so that we can move onto our own property and stop paying rent. Lord willing, shortly after that we plan to build an 1,100 sq. ft. garage where the future church FM radio station—trusting God to provide it in the coming months—will operate from, and where our assistant pastor’s family and my sister-in-law can live until better accommodations are built.

Currently we are renting five one-bedroom apartments to house all of us and the church office, and by having our own space we could easily save $2,000 per month. For the financial savings, the peace of mind that comes from owning where you live, the safety and tranquility of being a little outside the city, and the blessing of having a yard, we are looking forward to building and moving as soon as possible.

Finally, throughout October we spent a great deal of time planning for the U.S. team of 27 scheduled to join us the second week of November to help distribute 25,000 gospel packets. We were also able to install a huge map of our citythat Joshua at FreshLookBible.com made for us. It is quite spectacular to see your city so big!

For His glory,

Benjamin & Bernice George
