February Update

February saw the average attendance of our church grow to 55, with 2 baptisms! On the first of the month, we celebrated Jonathan’s 3rd birthday. This month, we did a lot of painting, organizing, and rewiring of the audio-visual (AV) infrastructure. Later in the month, I had the opportunity to take eight of the men from the church fishing about four hours south of us. Then, on the 27th, God allowed us to host our first couples meeting, with 10 couples (20 people) in attendance. It has been a fruitful month, and we give God all the glory for what He has done.

Please pray that God would allow our family to build and move into our own home before August. If anyone is interested in coming with a work team to help build a small, traditional American-style home in July, please let me know and we will make it happen. As of now, I plan to build with some local help, but my knowledge in this area is limited.

Looking ahead, we are endeavoring as a church to grow in prayer so that we may see God do great things among us and through us. I long to see Christ glorified and His power at work in our midst as we seek His favor.

One of our members, Ana, comes to church in a wheelchair. She has been attending since the beginning, and God has transformed her life. She no longer drinks or smokes, no longer spends time with the wrong crowd, and she actively reads her Bible and seeks to please God. She has two daughters who are not yet saved, and we are praying for them. Both live with her and have been intrigued by the things of God because of the change they have seen in their mother.

One daughter, Nazarena, is a single mother with a young son. The other, Yanina, openly declares herself to be a man and has changed her appearance so drastically that most would not recognize her as female. She has recently begun reading the Bible and has stopped living with another girl, but she has not yet stepped foot in church. Please pray for these two young ladies to receive God’s gift of salvation and surrender their lives to Christ. I have purposed to pray fervently for their conversion, and it will come about by God’s mighty power.

Please also join me in praying for another faithful member, Christina. She had already trusted Christ before coming to our church, but had been hopping from church to church and had many areas in her life out of order due to incorrect teaching. Since coming, she has grown much, and God has continued to change her. She is a dear lady and a true prayer warrior. Pray for her entire family—her husband and adult children—to receive salvation. My heart burns for her as I see her dedication to Christ and perseverance, and I long to see her unbelieving family saved and serving God.

Lives are being transformed by the power of God’s Word and the leading of His Spirit. These are only a few of the many stories I could share. Please pray—pray that God would use us and Iglesia Bautista Victoria to see the gospel reach our country. I believe the coming of the Lord is at hand, and He desires to reach as many as possible before His return. I believe He will show Himself strong on behalf of those who seek to do His will in holiness and who seek Him earnestly in prayer.

I could give you a long list of material needs, a long list of laborers needed, and a long list of people waiting to receive God’s saving power—some who have never heard, and others who have heard but need God’s conviction upon their hearts. But all of this is in vain if we do not pray. Please join me in prayer, and we will see Christ move in mighty ways that far exceed our own ability.

If you would like to visit in person or send a group, please let me know. We would love to have you.

For His glory,

Benjamin & Bernice George
