Fellow Partner,
Preparing for Visitors This month, after returning from the conference four of us from the church attended in Chile, we got to work preparing for the visit of two pastors from the USA and my sister-in-law. We cleared out two rooms that were used for storage, turning one into a guest room and the other into what will soon be our church nursery. Living in a one-bedroom apartment is challenging, especially with two families and an individual sharing three of them. We try not to keep too many things, but some items are essential and need a place to be stored. Here, we don’t have a garage, and renting storage space like in the US isn’t common, so everything must stay where you live. We built large shelves in one of the apartments and constructed a shed for tools on our property. It’s more convenient to keep the tools on-site for maintenance and construction, though the risk of theft is higher. I trust I built a sturdy enough shed to deter break-ins, and I pray God protects what’s stored there. I wanted to share a bit about how life is different here.
Hosting the Pastors We had the privilege of hosting Pastor James and Evangelist Kevin Murdock this month! Their journey was more difficult than I’ve ever seen, but God allowed them to arrive against all odds, and it was truly a blessing for me and the church. They were supposed to arrive on Saturday to teach personal evangelism that evening and preach Sunday morning, but due to weather and canceled flights, they didn’t make it until Sunday afternoon. Monday was a highlight—we enjoyed the best coffee from three of the top spots in town, and I showed them around. Pastor James and Brother Kevin had a powerful conversation about salvation with my neighbor Miguel at our property. Though Miguel said he doesn’t believe in God, he listened intently as they shared Christ’s love. A seed was planted, and I pray he will place his faith in Jesus soon. That evening, we held an impromptu service with the church, and Brother Murdock taught on evangelism.
A Spectacular Drone Show Our town hosted its first-ever drone show this month, featuring 300 drones illuminating the night sky! An estimated 50,000 people attended, and our family joined the crowd to witness this incredible event. The synchronized lights and patterns were mesmerizing, leaving us in awe. As we watched, I imagined how such a captivating display could be a powerful way to share the Gospel, drawing thousands to hear the message of Christ’s love in a creative and modern way.
Analia’s Arrival The following week, my sister-in-law Analia arrived. She has moved here to serve full-time and help in any way possible to advance God’s kingdom. Her first week was such a blessing, as she’s taking on much of the detailed secretarial work I’ve struggled to keep up with. I believe God will use her life here in a special way!
Property Projects We continue to clean the property God graciously allowed us to purchase, and we’re excited to see His provision at every step as we plan to build staff housing. My goal is to construct two 750-square-foot apartments, each with two bedrooms and one bathroom, stacked one on top of the other. This is likely the most cost-effective way to create decent, livable space for our family and another full-time staff family. We’re thrilled at the prospect of moving to the land—it’s so peaceful, and we’ll be able to have pets for Jonathan. He loves going with me once a week to mow the grass and clear the property. It’s his favorite thing to do right now. It will be wonderful for him to live there and have space to play outside. We currently don’t have funds to build, but we’re taking every step of faith we know to take, trusting God will provide, as He promises in Mark 11:24. It will be exciting to experience this process! Thank you for your prayers.
For Christ Glory,
Benjamin & Berenice George
