January Update

God is good. January marked another month of moving forward and seeing Him at work in powerful ways. Here in Posadas, things are moving at a tremendous pace, and at times it can feel hard to keep up. The church continues to grow, and with that growth come very real and tangible needs—additional meeting space, increased transportation capacity, improved audio and video equipment, and more laborers to support the work. Along with this growth, spiritual opposition has intensified. At the same time, we are moving forward by faith to build both our home and the church radio station. Blueprints are currently being completed, and the property is being leveled, as we pray that God would clearly guide and fully provide so that we can build and move before August, when our rental contract comes to an end.

One of our greatest challenges right now is space. For nearly a year we have been full almost every weekend, averaging 70–80% capacity in the auditorium, and yet we know we are far from what God desires us to reach. Victory Baptist Church is well known in the community; many people follow our content online and express interest, but few first-time visitors return. A common comment we hear is, “Every time I pass by, it’s full.” From the outside, it is obvious that we are meeting in a very small storefront, and this has become a limiting factor to continued growth. Our nursery (100 sq ft) holds 4–6 babies with two mothers, our 2–6 year old class meets in a 150 sq ft room with 10–15 children and two teachers, and during January we started a separate class for 6–12 year olds (10–15 children) in another 150 sq ft room just to free up space in the auditorium. While we praise the Lord for these problems, the reality is clear: without a larger meeting space, the church will stagnate, and stagnation is dangerous for any church. We have prayed for over a year that God would open the door to a larger facility, and while nothing has been fully clear yet, we ask you to pray with us that God would soon make the next step unmistakable.

God has also graciously provided a 14-passenger van that is being used far more than we anticipated. At times we are transporting nearly 20 people in the van while also running two or three additional cars on Saturdays. After arriving at church, the van often goes back out to pick up more people from another area. We want to operate legally, efficiently, and take proper care of what God has entrusted to us, which has made us aware of the growing need for a full-size, wheelchair-accessible bus. For now, we will be adjusting and running the bus route only on Saturdays, while praying for God’s guidance and timing in this area.

A significant opportunity the Lord has placed before us is the possibility of purchasing 71 acres of land near our current location. The owner is motivated to sell and is willing to discus terms of financing with a very low down payment. This land would allow us not only to relocate the church to a permanent home, but also to expand ministry, reach more families, and remove the space limitations that currently restrict growth. To move forward responsibly, we need $100,000 to begin the process and physically relocate the church to the property. This is a major step of faith, and as a church we have started to raise funds and move forward believing that God will provide.

Thank you for praying, supporting, and standing with us. It is truly our privilege to serve here in Argentina on your behalf and to watch God build His work. We are grateful for you and ask that you continue to pray for wisdom, provision, and open doors as we follow His leading.

For His glory,

Benjamin & Bernice George

P.S. We would love to welcome you to Posadas. Pastors are always encouraged to come and see the ministry firsthand, but this invitation is open to anyone who would like to visit, encourage the church, and witness what God is doing here. Our door is open, and it would be a joy to host you.
