February Update

Thank You for Praying!

This month, a pastor’s roof was blown off! Here in town, an assistant pastor from another Baptist church lost the roof of the home he was renting during a severe storm. Thank the Lord, no one was hurt, and most of his family’s belongings were not damaged.

We have an apartment that we rent to host guests since our own living space is very small, and they are now staying there temporarily as they look for another place to rent. He works full-time for the church with financial support from some churches and individuals in Argentina, but his income is very limited. Ideally, they could put a down payment on a property and build something small of their own, but at the moment, this would be impossible without God working a miracle. Please pray that God will provide them with a permanent place to live.

This month, we also praise the Lord that Isiac got baptized! He is 14 years old and the son of a faithful family in the church. It has been exciting to see visitors most weekends, but we need to work harder on retention. Most visitors come once and do not return. However, we have had two ladies start attending faithfully.

One area where I need to improve is stepping back to properly assess things and lead from a broader perspective. When you’re way out in front, handling all the minor tasks to keep everything running, it’s impossible to lead effectively. A few weeks ago, we had our first leadership meeting with the men who have been the most faithful and have shown a desire to serve. In this meeting, I defined responsibilities among them and clarified who is in charge of what. This will allow me to be a bit more hands-off in the details. I am so humbled by the men God has sent us.

Additionally, in April, we will be changing our discipleship method to a system that is much less demanding on my time and more scalable. This change will allow for greater growth and better long-term sustainability.

This month, we also had our Men and Boys Church Outing, where we rented a campground, played soccer, swam, fellowshipped, ate steak, and heard a message on leadership. We had 11 men and 9 boys in attendance. It was a great success, and they are eager to do another one soon! This was an excellent opportunity for bonding and inviting men who do not attend church. Lord willing, we plan to hold these gatherings every other month.

On February 23rd, our family traveled to Chile to visit family and teach for a pastor friend of mine. So far, the trip has been a blessing, and we will be returning to Posadas on March 15th. Please continue praying for us as we travel and minister.

For Christ Glory,

Benjamin & Berenice George
