January Update

The Start of 2025!

What a blessing it is to serve our God and begin another year doing so! Things here have been steady and full of excitement as usual.

This month, Adriana got baptized! She has been attending for several weeks, and during our discipleship time, she gave a clear testimony of salvation. She has been eager to grow in Christ, and it has been a joy to see her take this important step of obedience.

Sunday attendance has been steady at around 25, with visitors most weeks. We have often heard people say that Victory Baptist Church is different. This is exactly our desire—because a church whose members are close followers of Christ will stand out. Several people have also told us that, in time, the church will grow to be very large because a light in a dark world draws attention. This, too, is our desire.

Posadas is a city with a long history of evangelical churches, with over four generations exposed to some form of evangelical Christianity. However, because many churches here are not truly leading people to Christ, vast portions of the population have been left with a negative impression of church. In Argentina, people tend to categorize churches as either Catholic or Evangelical, and many have grown disillusioned with both.

Our most pressing need right now is land for the church. Please pray that God will provide land soon! We are praying and searching, trusting God to provide as we move forward by faith. The location we are currently renting will soon be too small, and it would be ideal to purchase land and begin building before we outgrow our space. Renting a larger facility would cost the church over $2,000 per month, and it would be a much better use of funds to invest in building or making property payments instead.

As we plan for the future, our desire is to acquire at least 25 acres for the church. There is currently a 9-acre plot available for $115,000 in a good location—an option worth considering, though smaller than we would like. A beautiful 20-acre property in an excellent location was just sold for $200,000, showing us what might be possible. Please pray for God’s guidance in this area as we trust Him to provide the right land at the right time.
